Credit Analyst (M2SCredAnalyst) Columbia, South Carolina

The Credit Analyst supports Commercial Lending Officers in the evaluation of loan requests.

Additional responsibilities include:

  • Accompanies lenders on customer and prospect visits.
  • Prepares memos detailing the results of customer and prospect contacts.
  • Spreads financial statements and does ratio analysis.
  • Coordinates required due diligence, monitors compliance with bank policies, borrowing base formulas and covenants.
  • Composes detailed and technical written evaluations of credit worthiness and comparison to peers for current and potential borrowers.
  • Monitors portfolio risk, prepares information packages and reports for department meetings and periodic 3rd party loan portfolio evaluations.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Must possess excellent business writing skills and be sales oriented.
  • Strong analytical ability, excellent understanding of financial accounting.
  • Good working knowledge of Banking, Lending and Finance.
  • Minimum one-year credit analyst experience with demonstrated skills in evaluating business loan requests.
  • Well-developed organizational, time management, interpersonal and decision making skills.
  • Motivated team player able to multi-task, work efficiently, independently, and collaboratively.
  • Proficient on all office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Adobe).
  • Experience with Fiserv Premier, Baker Hill Advisor & Statement Analyzer or Moody’s a plus a plus.
  • Four-year degree from an accredited college or university in business or other related area of study with at least two accounting courses preferred.
