Senior Project Lead - Architecture
Run complex projects your way. Be trusted with the biggest work. Learn directly from leadership.
If you’re already leading projects but feel boxed in by layers of sign-off, limited scope, or repetitive sectors — this is worth a look.
This role gives you genuine ownership of large, complex architectural projects, sitting in that rare space between Design Architect and Design Director. You’ll lead from concept through delivery, influence design outcomes, and be trusted to run things properly.
Why this role stands out
-
True project ownership – Lead major, bespoke projects end-to-end across multiple sectors, not just one slice of the process
-
A step toward senior leadership – Work directly with Directors and a Design Director who are hands-on and invested in your growth
-
Depth, not repetition – Residential towers, education, aged care, commercial refurbishments and more — often running in parallel
About the studio
You’ll be joining a well-established, nationally operating architectural practice with over 20 years in the market and studios across the Eastern Seaboard.
The Sydney studio is home to a large, highly collaborative interiors and architecture team, delivering fully integrated projects across education, aged care, residential, commercial, hospitality and workplace. The business has evolved from interior-led roots into a genuinely integrated architecture and interiors practice, which means you’ll be working with people who understand detail, delivery, and design intent.
Growth has been strong, project wins are coming quickly, and this role has been created as part of a deliberate push to strengthen senior project leadership.
What you’ll be doing (and why you’ll enjoy it)
You’ll take the lead on some of the practice’s most complex and high-profile work.
That means:
-
Running large, multi-workstream projects from Concept → DA → Delivery
-
Managing consultant teams, client relationships, and internal design coordination
-
Balancing strong design outcomes with real-world delivery constraints
-
Working across education, aged care, residential towers and commercial projects
-
Helping shape how this role evolves — it’s new, and your voice will matter
The pipeline is strong and diverse, with a heavy focus on concept and DA work coming through, particularly in aged care and residential.
What you’ll need
Rather than a long wish list, there are a few genuine non-negotiables:
-
Strong Revit capability (this is essential)
-
Proven experience leading bespoke, complex architectural projects
-
Beneficial if you have solid understanding of education standards and ADG
-
Confidence managing projects through multiple stages and stakeholders
Experience overseas is welcome, as long as you’re Revit-strong and comfortable operating in the local regulatory environment.
What you’ll get in return
-
A senior role with real influence, not a title-only promotion
-
Direct access to Directors and senior decision-makers
-
A collaborative, office-based culture that values discussion and shared problem-solving
-
A recently refurbished, design-led Sydney studio
-
Monday team catch-ups, Friday drinks, Lunch & Learns, and social initiatives like Archisoccer
-
Exposure to a broad, future-proof pipeline across multiple sectors
Most importantly, you’ll be trusted to do what you’re good at leading projects properly, while being supported to step into even greater responsibility over time.
If this sounds like your kind of place, you've got three easy options:
