We’re proud to be recruiting for a thriving, logistics business based in the Gwent area, South Wales. As they continue to grow and expand across the UK and Europe, they’re now looking for a proactive Transport Planner to join their fast-paced team.

Working closely with the European Transport Manager, you’ll play a key role in managing fleet operations, coordinating deliveries and collections, and ensuring service excellence across all European routes.

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Day-to-day planning and scheduling of the fleet across European routes
• Ensuring customer service levels remain consistently high
• Optimising journeys to reduce costs and improve delivery efficiency
• Arranging reloads/backloads and maximising truck utilisation
• Allocating work to hauliers and managing subcontractor relationships
• Uploading jobs to internal transport systems and dispatching to drivers
• Monitoring compliance, tachograph legislation, and safe working practices
• Working with the workshop manager on breakdowns and vehicle maintenance
• Checking haulier documentation, licences, and insurance for compliance
• Managing customer portals and assisting hauliers with driver apps as needed

What We’re Looking For:

• 2+ years’ experience in a similar role (e.g., Transport Planner or Fleet Manager)
• Strong understanding of transport/logistics processes, ideally with freight forwarding or European shipping
• Great communication, organisation, and problem-solving skills
• High attention to detail in a fast-paced environment
• Confident using Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
• Strong UK & European geographical knowledge
• Any additional European language (e.g., French) is a bonus but not essential
• Familiarity with import/export documentation is a plus
