Commercial Manager

Commercial Manager (RF1818) Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates

Salary: USD1 - USD1 per annum

Job Description:

- Develop tariff structure which must:

  • Mitigate cost risk (e.g.: Fuel costs…)
  • Drive customers’ behaviours
  • Capitalize on other jurisdictions’ best practices
  • Maximize profitability within license framework

- Develop and utilize modeling tools
- Validate/challenge modelling output

- Develop and implement synergies with power/water players in the UAE

  • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of Sector cost structure/operations
  • Develop clear understanding of suppliers and customers businesses Identification
  • Prepare/participate/manage negotiations

- Develop and maintain cooperation framework to enable/foster profitable trading deals

  • Develop bi-literal agreements with other States to enable trading
  • Develop and administer mandates and limits for trading
  • Design and implement KPIs

Majority of work is office based with regular visits to key stakeholders within the UAE and outside the UAE.

Job requirements: 

  • Bachelor Degree in a relevant field such as Economics, Econometrics, Statistic
  • Master Degree in a relevant field is preferable
  • Minimum of 10 years of varied experience in power or water sector commercial/trading activities or gas (as an utility)
  • Preferabely with international experience
  • Familiar with PLEXOS
  • In-depth knowledge of economic and commercial pricing principles and methodologies
  • Strong commercial acumen / Excellent negociator
  • Expert modelling and analytical skills and a proven track record of implementing solutions that deliver real commercial benefits
  • Experience of leading small teams
  • Good understanding of the Gulf region and the sector in Abu Dhabi
  • English language is mandatory, Arabic is preferable
