Technical Manager -Electromechanical &Automation (JO014802) Cairo, Egypt

Salary: GBP10 - GBP15 per annum

Our client, an International leader in railway infrastructure is looking for a Technical Manager -Electromechanical &Automation. 

Role and responsabilities : 

The technical manager, with a strong Electromechanical/Automation expertise background, will have a role of first order with the following responsibilities:

  • Provide technical guidance and insight to his team and upper management for basic, general detailed design development phase and systems integration
  • Carry out documentation review for those requiring a technical level of expertise in order to ensure the technical production is compliant with the requirements
  • Propose technical solutions (preventive/corrective/innovative) to relevant problems encountered
  • Optimize, from a technical view point, the proposed detailed design (and basic design from consultant)
  • Contribute to the design production, coordination issues (in terms of interfaces, RAMS, Combined Service Drawing) and requirements analysis
  • Setup and follow the documentation production progress carried out by sub-contractors
  • Produce procedures related to his/her field of expertise (i.e.: software and programming procedure…)
  • Assist the project management team for all technical meeting the client is requesting (involving major technical
  • Work closely with the project manager and coordination team during all phases of development lifecycle issues/discussion)
  • Capacity to provide technical expertise on the following:
  • Technical & functional specifications, technical files related to: E&M, power and control panels, control system, supervisory system (PLC), workstations…
  • Basic and detailed drawings (circuit and equipment diagram, terminal blocks, routing…), cable lists, shop drawings
  • In terms au automation (during Design / FAT / installation / pre commissioning / T&C):
  • Technical specifications: software, including coding and production rules
  • Functional (including rules, syntaxes, principles) and organic analyses: E&M supervisory system, automation and supervision projects …
  • Ensure hardware and software standardization and continuous improvement
  • Capacity to set up test platforms and develop applications in interface
  • Test software on the equipment during FAT
  • Debugged source codes ensuring a robust software backup process
  • Configuration control (in terms of hardware and software)
  • Proceed to the annual skill and training evaluations of his resources
  • Report his activities (progress, variations, technical issues…) to the Technical Director
  • Alert in case of risk identification (schedule, design, equipment…), technical problems, production issues and when relevant program changes are identified
  • Contribute in the competency matrix definition of the team
  • Provide technical training and/or propose department training development orientation
