Overview:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Document Controller to join our fast-paced team. This role is ideal for someone with a background in administration, data entry, or document control, and who is looking to progress within a growing technical business. You’ll work with both technical and non-technical documents relating to medium voltage and high voltage applications, supporting the team in maintaining accurate, up-to-date records across multiple active projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain and manage document control systems for technical and non-technical documentation.
- Ensure all project documentation is correctly versioned, stored, and distributed to relevant stakeholders and uploaded onto customer portals.
- Support engineers, project managers, and other departments with document handling, formatting, and filing.
- Assist in the preparation and submission of documentation packages to clients.
- Track document revisions, deadlines, and approvals.
- Liaise with internal departments and external contacts to follow up on documentation requirements.
- Adhere to company processes and industry standards related to document management.
Key Requirements:
- Previous experience in an administrative, data entry, or document control role.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook,).
- High attention to detail and excellent organisational skills.
- Able to work under pressure and manage multiple deadlines simultaneously.
- Effective communication skills across technical and non-technical audiences.
- Proactive attitude with a willingness to learn and take on increasing responsibility.
- Experience working in a technical or engineering environment (desirable, not essential).
- Familiarity with ISO standards or controlled document procedures (a plus).
Desirable Experience:
- Exposure to technical documents in energy, utilities, construction, or manufacturing sectors.
- Experience using document management systems.
- Understanding of electrical equipment, schematics, or engineering drawings (beneficial, but not required).
