Nicholas Associates has an excellent opportunity for a Quality Engineer, to join an established & expanding client in Lincolnshire.

As a Quality Engineer you will play an important role in ensuring that our products and processes meet established quality standards on site from development through to production phases of our product’s lifecycles.

You will support through design to delivery of high-reliability electronics products in an environment with stringent controls. This position plays an important role in ensuring that all products meet strict customer and regulatory standards. The Quality Engineer will work closely with the Quality Manager to help maintain and improve our Quality Management System and will be best placed on site to educate and encourage all colleagues on the benefits of compliance. Our key sectors include aerospace and defence, factory automation, air and water quality environmental monitoring, electronics design and development, oceanographic research, deepwater oil and gas exploration and production, medical imaging and pharmaceutical research.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Leading root cause Analysis/corrective actions with cross-functional teams using structured problem-solving tools.
  • Training of colleagues in Quality related fields.
  • Performing Internal quality and product audits and working with the product/process owner on improvements thereafter.
  • Supporting with Non-conformance report investigations.
  • Raising supplier Quality notifications and liaising directly with suppliers.
  • Preparing, performing and documenting Supplier Quality Audits.
  • Completing Product Assurance on products after final inspection and prior to shipping.
  • Effective communication and education across all teams and levels within the Organisation.
  • Working closely with the manufacturing team to prepare and complete First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs) to AS9102 standard.
  • Analysis of data and development of process KPIs in collaboration with process owners.

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • 5+ years of directly related experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Internal Quality Auditor certification; preferably lead auditor.
  • MS Suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint; prepare analytical results, charts/graphs.
  • Extensive working knowledge of ISO9001.
  • Good working knowledge of AS9102 standard.
  • Working knowledge of AS9100 standard (preferred).
  • Exemplary attention to Detail.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently with pro-active attitude.
  • Capability of working in a fast-paced environment.
