What’s the role?

• Managing a case load of up to 20 clients and undertaking home visits in accordance within a ANFPP model through a bi-cultural model approach to eligible women and their families who reside in the Alice Springs and surrounding outstations, Santa Teresa and Amoonguna communities
• Assessing physical, emotional, social and environmental needs of women and their families as they relate to the ANFPP domains
• Providing education, support and referral resources when assisting women and their families to identify and achieve their desired stated goals
• Consulting and collaborating with other professionals/agencies involved in providing services to women and families
• Working collaboratively with the Aboriginal Community Worker through a bicultural model to support cultural safety in program delivery and develop effective partnerships with clients and their families;

Is the role right for you?

• Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse or Registered Midwife with a minimum of 4 years nursing /midwifery experience
• Preparedness to undertake and complete all ANFPP training and other workplace training as required with a willingness to travel interstate for training
• Understanding of the social determinants of health and other disparities experienced by Aboriginal people
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively with both Aboriginal clients and a willingness to be supported by Aboriginal staff for cultural guidance
• Current Ochre Card, Criminal History Check, First Aid Certificate and NT Drivers Licence
