Network Field Engineer – London

Are you a Network Field Engineer seeking a rare and exciting opportunity to work within the Film and TV production industry (film experience not necessary, but you will need a passion for Network Infrastructure)?

As the Network Field Engineer, your role will be primarily based on film sets, configuring and supporting network infrastructure on location. This will involve rigging and derigging of cables, deploying mobile flight-cased network equipment and rigging access points.

Every day is different, typically everything is kept very mobile, film crews will sometimes be in a location for just a few hours, other times you will be in the same stage for a week or more. The hours will vary depending on the film production and you must be flexible to work within their requirements.

When not on-set you will be based in the warehouse, building testing, and maintaining equipment ready for field use.

Network Field Engineer Responsibilities:

  • Rigging cables throughout a site.
  • Configuring, installing, and replacing network equipment
  • Configuring WLANs and VLANs to segregate departmental traffic
  • Field Troubleshooting of network equipment in a fast-paced environment.
  • Helping non-technical users with iPad applications especially video streaming
  • Administration that includes managing remote user accounts, modifying firewall rules, updates to network configurations, monitoring & reporting
  • Monitor and correct security vulnerabilities
  • Setting of file structures, permissions, and any changes that need to be made.
  • Assist with a range of issues from workstations, operating systems, application &
  • reducing downtime and productivity for all users
  • Discuss and explain technical situations to a non-technical audience
  • Configuration and deployment of Servers

Network Field Engineer Required Skills:

  • Experience in configuring and troubleshooting networking equipment
  • Strong understanding and technical skills of project deployment specific to hardware
  • infrastructure cabling, and IT installations
  • Experience in installing Firewalls that are configured to specific requirements
  • Experience of building and installing temporary wall and floor mounted cabinets
  • Wireless troubleshooting skills
  • Deep Knowledge and understanding of VLAN’s
  • Full driving license and willingness to travel

Network Field Engineer Useful Qulifications:

  • Desirable CCNA Wireless & CCNA Security
  • MCSA, Cisco and CompTIA Network+ certifications
  • 2+ years in a similar IT environment

The salary is paying up to £35,000 (plus daily on-site bonus)
