Salary: GBP16000 - GBP24000 per annum

Castle Education are recruiting for Boarding House Parents to work with an independent 11-18 school in rural North Yorkshire.

The House Tutor role involves living on-site at the school and providing pastoral care to the students who board during term time and the school require someone who can deliver some teaching alongside the pastoral work so a background in teaching would be crucial and a PGCE would be required. As part of the job requirement you need to be a practising Roman Catholic.

Boarding House Parents would be required to be motivated and flexible individuals who have experience working with young people. They would take a significant role in the care of the students, acting as both a parent and teacher to students who are living away from their families. Being professional yet approachable towards both parents and students is a vital part of the role. You would have reduced teaching hours to reflect the responsibilities associated with the role and would be expected to support extra curricular activities including sports.

The role of the Boarding House Parent is residential and as such comes with accommodation on site in the form of a flat within the boarding House. The role also allows for family accommodation and a range of other benefits.
