Job Summary/Introduction

The Operation Manager will manage the Sea and/ or Air Freight operations, managing the daily workflow briefing, problem
solving and KPI adherence. The role will also have interrelation to Product Manager for regular review of Sea and/ or Air Freight volume while developing ideas to further boost the company's own business products. In addition, leading the team members and support their continuous development and growth within the company.

Description
  • Manage the Sea and/ or Air Freight operations, the daily workflow briefing, problem solving and KPI adherence
  • Assurance that company’s investment on business relation to Operations are managed maximized to create beneficial result financially and on the service.
  • Regular job report analysis to reduce loss making shipments. Interrelation to Product Manager for regular review of Sea and/ or Air Freight volume while developing ideas to further boost the company's own business products
  • Hire qualified staff, leading the team members and support their continuous development and growth within the company. Cooperation and teamwork to be ensured anytime
  • Regular case study and root cause analysis for preventive actions.
  • Ensuring that commitments to customers are maintained while strategic planning for
    the company’s growth is driven for.
  • Training of the Operations Team in terms of market information, new regulations,
    company policy, SOP and orientation of on-boarding employees.
  • Regular joint sales calls in terms of acquiring new customers as well as
    performance meetings.
  • Frequent joint review with Pricing about trucking, warehousing and other subcontractors’
    tariffs.
  • Regular meetings with sub-contractors (trucker, broker as well as core carriers and
    co-loaders at local level.
  • Approval of new triangular shipments (switched B/L shipments).
  • Implementation of regional policies.


Candidate's Profile
  • Extensive knowledge of local and international freight services and customs policies.
  • High level of Pricing and Procurement skills and negotiation power.
  • Familiar with industry standard programs and able to operate standard systems relevant to the position.
  • Experience in Sales-relating position is advantageous.
  • Data analytical mindset is a must.
  • Professional working attitude.
  • Experience in special shipment handlings: reefer, DG, contract/ project logistic, etc
    is advantageous.
  • Proficient English language skills in both verbal and written.
  • Negotiation skills are must.
  • Minimum 5-year experience in similar position.
