Installation and Civil Works Category Supplier Contract Manager (12/01/2023) Dubai, United Arab Emirates

Salary: USD50 - USD51 per day + Negotiable

Our Client is looking for a Installation and Civil Works Category –  Supplier Contract Manager with the following details:

Location :Dubai, UAE (occasionally travel to the Middle East : KSA, Qatar, Iraq, etc. for the needs of the projects  )

Contract Duration: 12 months, renewable

Work Status : Resident, Single

 Key Responsibilities and tasks

  • Ensure Installation and Civil Works Supplier Contract Coverage; (1) work with Category Management to ensure that the project’s long term requirements for Installation and Civil Works are covered by suitable supplier contracts or that these are being progressed in accordance with COMPANY procurement process and governance; (2) where necessary, support Category Management with any Project tendering activity for Construction/Installation, following COMPANY procurement process; (3)  interpret customer contract terms and conditions to draft supplier contract terms and conditions accordingly, working with project team to ensure flow down terms are in line with COMPANY Gate 2 approvals and Legal Memos
  • Manage Installation and Civil Works Supplier Contract: (1) Manage contract between COMPANY and supplier from placement to close out;  (2) Maintain full visibility of purchase requisitions & orders ;  (3) Manage payment application through to invoice closure (monitoring actual costs against planned/estimates); (4) Document and maintain all contractual records and ensure all contract documents are fully executed by all parties; (5) Enforce compliance to the contractual terms and deliverables by the Supplier/s and COMPANY, in alignment with the Project and COMPANY requirements for Safety, Quality, Environment, Ethics, Project Efficiency and Competitiveness
  • Identify, monitor and implement changes to Installation and Civil Works scope/s of work and those cost implications (i.e. obtaining internal approvals to changes, lead the preparation and negotiation of contract amendments with supplier – for changes either instigated by COMPANY or the supplier) (2) support negotiation and contractual validation of change orders, maintaining change logs
  • Performance Review Reporting; Lead ongoing performance review meetings with Installation and Civil Works suppliers, monitoring supplier performance against all obligations, prepare, maintain and forecast 4-weekly costs and commitment report (i.e. review payment status, cross-check against accounting system, provide cash flow forecasts)
  • Identify Risks/Opportunities/Issues/Disputes and Escalate as appropriately with Commercial support; Contribute to the Procurement or Project Risk Register for Installation and Civil Works, ensuring appropriate risk is captured and Installation and Civil Works supplier/s’ mitigation actions are undertaken and completed
  • Provide support to projects, bids and functions; liaise with Purchasing function to feed any lessons learned into future bids and projects involving Installation and Civil Works.

      Experience

  • Pre and Post Contract Management activities
  • Contract Management of major contracts, high in value (in excess of £5m), high in complexity and high in risk, ideally for Construction or Installation (e.g. FIDIC/NEC)

  • Relevant purchasing, commodity and category management experience
  • Experience of working in a major programme/ project environment preferably in the Construction or Installation industry
  • Experience of working in a multi-discipline team environment 

        Education & Qualifications

 

 

        Essential

  • 5 years plus relevant experience in procurement, or Quantity Surveying.
  • Track record of success in a similar role in relevant businesses or markets

       Desirable

  • Procurement/Quantity Surveying/ CIPS/ RICS degree/affiliation
  • 3 years plus relevant experience in Construction or Installation.
  • Financial management / Programme management
  • Business or Engineering related degree
