We are looking for an ISBL Superintendent for one of our clients with the following details:

Location: Sohar, Oman

Start Date: Early August

Estimated Service Duration: 12 months (renewable)

Service Status: Resident (5 days per week)

Qualification and Experience Required:

• Experience on large scale oil and gas projects from both owner and contractor perspective, with focusing on multidisciplinary ISBL works.
• Ability to schedule priorities and multi-task within time and budget requirements.
• Engineering degree, with 10-year more oil & gas construction experience or equivalent experience specific to complex industrial ISBL execution such as all disciplines involved, Civil and Structural, Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, Telecommunication and pre-commissioning works.
• Strong HSE culture and safety leadership.
• Effective communication and leadership skills with the ability to influence critical decision agreements regarding safety, schedule and cost.
• English written and verbal communication skills, Arabic or French is a plus.
• Ability to encourage and work within a team culture in a multinational environment.
• Communication, Organization, Planning, Time management and Reporting skills.

Missions

• Support in the review of the CONTRACTOR’s key deliverables, construction activities for the ISBL SOW inclusive of all the discipline involved (Civil, Structural and Mechanical, Electrical and Instrumentation up to pre-commissioning.
• Provides technical assistance to the Construction Manager for any technical audits foreseen.
• Ensures through efficient review the good respect of the applicable frame of reference.
• Participates actively to proper interface management with other SITE activities during the EPSCC phase.
• Participates to audits of risk-contractors if need be.
• Ensure design validity and coherence with other disciplines and throughout the LNG ISBL facilities.
• Call for/Participate to interfaces coordination activities and ensure synergies are developed between the different Contractors.
• Get knowledge of the Omani norms and practices and use it in project when relevant.
• Support Construction Manager in coordination activities and monitor work front declared by CTR, feasibilities studies as per project requirements and construction procedures, up to the last system handover to Commissioning team for all the ISBL, targeting the successfully reaching the milestones for energization and highlighting whenever such targets are in risk to be delayed
• Develop strong working relationships with EPC Contractors, in routine management as well as in management of critical issues.
• Facilitate the development of execution plans from EPC Contractors, method statements, and other relevant procedures to ensure that work plan and scopes are aligned with project strategies and deliver a safe, qualitative and timely execution of the project always in compliance with all the company procedures, specifications, requirements and management instructions.
• Participate to the Site supervision activities whenever required (either direct or via supervisors Team) to demonstrate safety commitment, as well as quality and construction oversight and direct contact with Contractor’s and Subcontractors’ teams.
• Together with Construction Manager, review construction progress from EPC Contractor, provide inputs to the internal construction reporting system and identify any deviances or risks to the schedule, by also proposing potential mitigations to his management and the EPC Contractor.
• Support the Construction Manager, by providing inputs and coordination, in the overall site management with particular attention to ISBL SOW.
• Ensure the quality and completeness of Final Documentation (deliverables both from the Contractor and Vendors) in compliance with ISBL Project Scope of Work, Specifications and Procedures and allowing an adequate hand-over to the operation.
• Contribute to Construction related risk identification and mitigation reviews.
• Contribute to project peer assists, peer reviews and technical assurance reviews to progress the project and ensure compliance with project procedures.
• Based on his technical knowledge and experience, as well as lessons learned and good practices, be able to influence or suggest changes to work practices and routines to improve the efficiency of outcomes
• Apply and implement management systems & practices, to enhance the flow of information and data across project delivery teams, functional groups and external contractors.
• Monitoring the effectiveness of the EPC Contractor’s construction management processes
• Lead or attend all necessary construction planning meetings to ensure a proper follow-up of the issues and resolutions.
• Develop registers/trackers to ensure the responsible parties are identified and relevant actions are monitored until resolution.
• Prepare REX and Lessons Learnt all along the EPC.
