Contract Engineer - C&P (JO018244) Doha, Qatar

We are looking for a Contract Engineer 

Location : Doha, Qatar

Duration : 12 months 

Work Status : Resident, Single 

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • BSc Degree in Science or Commercial field or its equivalent
  • International Experience Requirement : Yes No
  • Professional experience: 5-7 years post-graduate experience required in contracts within the O&G industry, within an EPC context (contractor or client side) and 2 years’ experience as a Contract Engineer for an operator
  • Personal Abilities: Curiosity for technical matters, Adaptability to changing project conditions, Advanced Human Relations, Problem Solving and Planning / organizing / coordinating / controlling

C&P competencies

  • Advanced level in Contracts technical Competencies required
  • MCIPS preferred

ACTIVITIES

  • The Job holder liaises with other teams and participates to the processes and communication of the contracts entity by performing the following tasks
  • Provide professional advice and guidance to all project technical entities with respect to contractual matters
  • Issue contractual letters, based on feedback from project technical entities and project management
  • Manage Change Orders and Amendments for all contracts
  • Negotiate change orders and claims in close cooperation with project technical entities and project management
  • Monitor on-going contracts status, participate to claims, amendments and contract renewal discussions and Review supplier’s performance with the Duet
  • Participate in regular follow-up meetings with contractor
  • Coordinate MIWRA signature, obtain any required Supplier Insurances, C.A.R Insurance and PBG or PCG (if applicable)
  • Attend all required Contracts Committee Meetings
  • Coordinate the signing of formal document after approval from authorities and partners and clarification of rights and obligations of both signing parties according to DOA
  • Keep updated registers of change orders and letters
  • Provide C&P and project management with accurate reporting of contractual risks and issues

Other Responsibilities:

  • Understand basic technical issues on an offshore construction project
  • Liaise with C&P Methods/planning/market and line Manager for reporting and statistics matters
  • Keep informed or best practices in contracts procedures for improvement of contracts practices in COMPANY
  • Prepare and maintain an up-to-date list of qualified contractors/suppliers/potential tenders/contracts with updated information to perform market studies; analyze and assess all possible answers from the market
  • Understand market situation and to be able to interpret market forecasts.
