Welding Engineer

Welding Engineer (09/07/2024) Dubai, United Arab Emirates

We are looking for Welding Engineer for one of our clients with the following details:

Location: Abu Dhabi, UAE with mission in IRAQ whenever required

Work Scheme: Resident, 5 days per week

Start date: August 2024

Duration: 12 months, subject for renewal

Qualifications & Experience Required

  • Qualification: Engineering degree in Mechanical/Metallurgy/Materials/Equivalent and Post Graduate in Welding Engineering
  • Welding qualification like EWE or Equivalent
  • Languages: English first language (French/Arabic would be an advantage)
  • Professional Experience: At least 15 years experience of Welding within a major project environment
  • Hands on experience in Major Gas Processing Project
  • Experience in Iraq region is added advantage

Missions / Service Dimensions

  • The service holder shall take ownership of managing all Welding activities in the Project .
  • Shall act as Welding focal point for the Project
  • Maintaining Quality Management systems promoting best practice and continuous improvement.

Activities

Quality Assurance

  • Compliance to the Project Management System documentation
  • Ensure the contractor/supplier Welding requirements as per the Contract
  • Coordination and support in execution of audit schedules,
  • Execution of Quality planning,
  • Inputs to the EPC Contractor Equipment Criticality Assessments activities
  • Coordination of Vendor, Contractor Welding activities , etc.
  • Liaise with HQ Welding Engineer department

Inspection/Contractor/Vendor Management

  • Ensure all Contractor/Sub-Contractor Welding Procedures(WPS/PQR) are created, communicated, followed, and periodically reviewed/approved prior to start of work
  • Ensure all the Vendors/Sub-Vendors WPS are reviewed/approved start of Work
  • Provide inputs to the Contractor,Sub-Contractor,Vendor and Sub-Vendor ITP as required
  • Ensure all the Welding in the project are carried out by Qualified Welder/Welding Operators
  • Ensure the key metrics set for Welding are monitored and complied
  • Attend Pre-Inspection Meetings if required
  • Ensure Welding performance metrics are maintained effectively by Contractor
  • Provide inputs if any concerns noted in the Inspection/Quality Surveillance reports generated by the Company Surveillance/Inspection personnel
  • Coordinate with Package Quality Engineers,SMEs(NDE, Painting/Coating) Inspection Coordinator and Engineering, Package Engineers and other relevant departments
  • Coordinate with Site and Yard QA/QC Superintendents as required
  • Conversant in all the EPC phase activities
  • Conversant in all Equipment’s, Items, Products like piping, Pressure vessels,Pumps,Compressors,GTG, Valves,Pipeline.

Audit

  • Plan, conduct and assist in compliance audits, self-audits and inspections.
  • Participate in key customer quality reviews.
  • Ensure all regulatory compliance and standards are met.
  • Maintain comprehensive audit, response and action matrices.
