Graduate Applications Engineer

Salary: £28,000 - £32,000
A growing power solutions provider is seeking an Applications Engineer to support the Sales team by producing accurate, commercially aligned technical proposals for UPS and generator projects. This role suits someone who enjoys translating customer requirements into well‑engineered solutions and working closely with internal teams to help secure new business.
Responsibilities:
· Develop costed technical proposals for UPS and generator systems, including commercial offers, technical specifications, and data sheets.
· Interpret client requirements and ensure solutions meet technical, commercial, and profitability targets.
· Prepare cost/price build‑ups (CMU/PMU) to support accurate quotations.
· Support Sales during negotiations on pricing, technical details, and commercial terms.
· Attend site surveys, client meetings, and tendering activities both on‑site and remotely.
· Provide clear handovers to Contracts, Engineering, and Manufacturing teams for successful project delivery.
· Offer ongoing technical support to Project/Contracts Managers throughout the project lifecycle.
· Contribute to continuous improvement and assist with additional tasks as required.
About you:
· Degree, HNC, HND, or equivalent in an engineering discipline.
· Strong IT literacy, including spreadsheets and technical documentation.
· Confident communicator with the ability to work transparently and collaboratively.
· Resilient, organised, and comfortable working in a fast paced environment.
· Strong interpersonal skills, self awareness, and customer focused mindset.
· Excellent time management and attention to detail.
