Our client, a well-established and rapidly growing business in the construction industry, is seeking an experienced Payroll Officer to join their close-knit team based in the CBD. About the Role:
Reporting to the Payroll Manager, you will be responsible for end-to-end payroll processing across multiple cycles, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
- End-to-end payroll processing for multiple pay cycles
- Maintaining and updating employee records in Chris21
- Managing payroll queries and providing high-quality customer service
- Interpreting awards, EBAs, and construction-specific allowances
- Assisting with reporting, audits, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Supporting the broader payroll function as part of a small, collaborative team
About You:
- Minimum 3 years’ payroll experience, ideally in construction or similar industries
- Solid understanding of full-function payroll and Australian legislation
- Experience with Chris21 (highly desirable)
- Detail-focused, driven, and keen to continue learning and expanding your skills
- Ability to work independently while contributing positively to a small team environment
- Strong communication skills and a proactive mindset
