Castle Education are currently working exclusively with a College in Scarborough who are looking for an Automotive Lecturer to join their team on a permanent basis with the offering of full-time hours. The Automotive Lecturer needs to be committed and dynamic and be confident in developing the colleges brand.

The Automotive Lecturer will be a fully qualified Lecturer and have the relevant work/industrial experience within the Automotive Industry as a Vehicle Technician/Engineer.  If you do not possess a teaching qualification the college may be able to help, if you are an aspiring trainer hoping to get into the world of teaching. PTTLS courses could be offered, If you possess the passion and integrity that is required of an Automotive Trainer this may be available to you.

The position of Automotive Lecturer will be best suited to individuals who are motivated and enthusiastic with good background knowledge in the Automotive service and repair industry. You are to lead one of the Automotive programs at the college, providing students with a dynamic programme that will benefit them in future roles. The Motor Vehicle Specialist will be teaching at L1, L2 and L3 Apprenticeship level and on full-time study programmes. This position is a great opportunity to watch how learners develop during the programme, as the Motor Vehicle instructor you will be held accountable for all elements including tutorials and high grades.  

The Certificate in Assessing Vocational Achievement is a highly desirable possession, however, if you do not possess this, you must be willing to work towards gaining this qualification. This applies similarly to the IQA or Internal Quality Assurance. If you currently hold A1 or V1 qualifications, you must show that you are willing to update to the new standards.

The Salary for this post: £26,250 - £33,000

• Previous Teaching experience in Automation and Motor Vehicle Engineering
• The skills, experience, and knowledge to deliver the Automotive programme
• Enthusiasm and patience to pass on your skills and knowledge to others
• The UK recognised teaching qualification
• DBS on the update service
