Castle Education are looking for a qualified maths and English Specialist to plan and deliver high-quality lessons one day a week to Post 16 learners. We are looking for a Functional Skills tutor to work on a temporary basis. Although the functional skills trainer needs to be confident in delivering English as a subject the client are looking for a teacher who predominantly specialises in maths. The role is within an independent provider and will be working with groups on a more 1-2-1 basis rather than a standard classroom. The Client is situated in Scarborough and is easily accessible by public transport. The hours required are subject to change and can be negotiated. Previous experience in teaching functional skills is required as well as knowledge of the new framework.
The successful candidate will need to
- Plan, develop and deliver lessons to the highest standard
- Review and assess learners progress
- To teach and support all learners throughout their study program
In order to apply for the role you must have:
- A DBS registered on the Update service (or be willing to undergo a check)
- Relevant teaching qualifications (DTLLS/PGCE)
- Assessor Qualification would be advantageous but not essential
- Commitment to Learners
- Flexibility
The hourly rate for this particular role is £16.50
