Salary: GBP64000 - GBP74000 per annum

We have an Immediate temporary opportunity for a Head of Nursing to support a large health-care trust due to the challenging situation and increased support required across the sector.

The Head of Nursing role is both challenging and exciting and requires a highly experienced Nursing professional who is capable of leading, inspiring and developing the nursing workforce to continuously drive up standards of patient care and to ensure a patient centred approach that is safe and effective in particular across the emergency and elderly specialists.

We are looking for a passionate and highly experienced Head of Nursing or experienced Nursing Manager who can implement changes, assess, manage and resolve difficult situations. As well as Improve and continually maintain staff morale by effective communication, leadership and optimism in extremely challenging times, whilst maintaining the highest level of care for all.  

As the Head of Nursing will you will be responsible for the effective management and control of the resources, delivery of the wider Nursing agenda, assist and advise in the preparation of Business Plans taking into account service needs, workforce planning, estate issues, financial constraints and commissioner's priorities.  You will have the ability to build strong internal and external stakeholder relationships including senior clinical roles and commercial contacts across the organisation as well as media, patients and families, other health care organisations, universities and CCG’s.

To be considered for the role of Head of Nursing role you will

  • Have a proven background of senior nursing and management
  • Be a level 1 RGN (Registered General Nurse)
  • Hold a Relevant degree
  • Have a Masters degree or equivalent level of skill acquired through experience
  • Possess a formal teaching and assessing award
  • Hold a formal management qualification or equivalent level of skill acquired through experience.
  • Provide evidence of ongoing relevant professional development
  • Understanding of topical nursing issues.
  • Proven record of successfully implementing change
  • Demonstrable understanding and experience of management and handling of data and information.
  • Budgetary management and workforce development experience.
  • In depth understanding and experience of clinical governance and quality management.
  • Proven experience of leading and delivering the patient safety agenda
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritise and problem solve.
  • Excellent presentation skills.
  • Critical analysis and imaginative problem solving.
  • Ability to participate in 24 hour on call hospital management rota
  • Have a fully enhanced DBS on the update service 

This is a temporary role with an immediate start required. Due to the nature of the post you will be required to undertake additional screening and compliance checks.
