Castle Education are seeking a highly motivated and passionate individual as a Teacher of English to join a motivated team and the existing English department. The English Teacher position is a fixed-term contract running up until July 2021 with the potential of being extended for the right English Teacher. The English Teacher is to be available for full-time work as this is the required teaching schedule. The Teacher of English will ideally have experience of teaching Key Stage 3 and 4 English Literature and Language and having previous knowledge of A-level English may be advantageous.

As an English Teacher, you will be working closely with an established team of English teachers in promoting the highest standards of teaching and learning to support students of all backgrounds and abilities.

As an English department, the school values teaching that is evidence-based, ensuring students are prepared for both later qualifications and building a full understanding of English Language and English Literature as academic disciplines.

In the English department, we also prioritise subject-specific CPD, utilising our regular department meetings to develop both evidence-based pedagogy and rigorous subject knowledge.

The salary for this role is: £25,714 - £41,604

The Qualities an English Teacher will possess:

• Have QTS (Qualified teacher status)
• Hold an English Degree
• Be a passionate and outstanding English Language Teacher with excellent subject knowledge
• Have experience of Teaching English to KS3/4
• Have excellent classroom and behaviour management skills
• Have excellent subject knowledge and a desire to provide the best education to pupils
