About the role
This is more than a job, it’s your chance to step into public health, make a real difference.
As part of WA Health's Early Childhood Oral Health Program, you'll visit community centres, libraries, and playgroups to deliver tailored health education to children aged 0-4 and their families. You'll provide care outside the traditional clinic environment, engaging directly with parents and carers to promote lifelong healthy habits in a supportive, community-focused setting.
You will provide screenings, examinations, fluoride treatments and minimally invasive dental treatments.
You will never be working alone - each session includes a Dental Assistant, and you will always travel and work in pairs for safety and support. Full training and orientation are provided before you begin.
- Provide oral health education, screenings, examinations, fluoride treatments and minimally invasive dental treatments.
- Run morning-only community sessions (8:00am-1:00/2:00pm)
- Start your day from the East Perth hub with a DA
- Sessions planned in advance and often based on local referrals
- Work with families in diverse, friendly settings - no clinic pressures
Skills & experience
- Registered Oral Health Therapist or Dental Therapist (AHPRA)
- New grads and experienced clinicians encouraged to apply
- Confident engaging with families, parents, and young children
- Valid Working with Children Check & driver’s licence
- Passion for prevention, education, and community care
