Mechanical Fitter 

Randstad Engineering are currently recruiting for a Mechanical Fitter to come and work for TATA Steel, Shotton Works in Deeside 

The role is an initial 12 month contract paying £16.51 per hour, working a 39 hour week, Monday - Friday. 

The Role

The job holder will be responsible for mechanical maintenance, refurbishment and repair of mechanical equipment.

Role responsibilities will include, but not be limited to the following:

PURPOSE OF JOB

The job holder will be responsible for mechanical maintenance, refurbishment, and
repair of mechanical equipment within the mechanical engineering function of the 6
Galv manufacturing team.
The candidate must be a time served mechanical craftsman and have adequate relevant
plant experience in a manufacturing related industry and have a base knowledge of
mechanical maintenance basics including common components. They must have good
communications skills. The candidate must be able to work as part of a multi-disciplined
team. They must possess good risk awareness when planning and undertaking tasks, and
be able to challenge those who do not.
Role responsibilities will include, but not be limited to the following:
 Health, Safety and Environmental performance adhering to the works IMS procedures and
PPE instructions / procedures and facilitating the team safety meetings.
 Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance within a manufacturing environment.
 Undertake repairs and refurbishments of equipment from a wide range of mechanical
systems from existing drawings to the expected delivery period.
 Perform routine tasks to a high standard every time.
 Take an active role in the upkeep of the manufacturing line, maintaining and improving
safety and housekeeping standards within the Galv mechanical days team.
 Undertake work for workshops, auxiliary plant, and downshifts as required.
 Undertake Risk assessments for activities to be undertaken.
