Our client is made up of a group of companies which have national coverage and have come together via a number of acquisitions. The business is going through an integration and growth phase which includes the standardisation of systems and also the creation of the roadmap strategy for systems for the future.
Job Purpose:
Your role is to ensure the delivery and maintenance of a stable and secure platform whilst also supporting the business to plan, design and implement the systems of the future. This is very much a hands on role, supported by a small infrastructure team, and by external consultants where required.
Key Responsibilities
- You will have ownership of all challenges associated with building and maintaining an IT and IS estate that can support all of the companies across the Group.
- This role will include leadership and management of all IT, IS services and infrastructure
- There are a number of other systems in place which will need to be standardised and integrated as appropriate. You will take a lead role in the migration of the various systems.
- Primary business application; Microsoft Business Central (SaaS) as the Finance system and Depotnet for operational jobs management
- Microsoft 365 has been embraced for all other needs; file server (SharePoint), Teams, Teams Telephony, etc
- PeopleHR was selected as the HR system
- Many extensions have been developed for Business Central to meet operational demands
Your role will include:
- Creation of an IT strategy to support the business throughout its growth, including strategy justification, board approval and successful tactical roll-out and ongoing operation, reporting and improvement programs.
- Management of all IT and IS technology across the Group ensuring standardisation.
- Budgeting and managing spend
- Ensuring the best possible contracts in place with appropriate SLA’s and management
- Employee life-cycle IT engagement from onboarding, training and support, through to off-boarding, ensuring excellent service provision and asset management throughout.
- Management of GDPR, Data Protection, ISO Accreditation, Cyber Security, governance and reporting.
- Building the team and interactions they have with stakeholders across their business and with external third-party vendors.
- Continuously assessing, monitoring and upgrading business IT systems and IT processes through the journey, including all aspects of change management.
Required:
- Experience working in an IT leadership role, preferably within a high growth technology driven environment.
- An ability to understand IT & systems in a wider commercial context.
- Exceptional project, change management and time management skills.
- A strong communicator at all levels including board
- Comfortable working in an environment of rapid growth and constant change,
- A strong grasp of data security
- Good technical knowledge in IT management, infrastructure and applications, data warehousing, architecture and networking and cloud platforms
- Completer/finisher who will roll their sleeves up and working with the team get the job done on time and on budget
