A long-term opportunity with a company that genuinely looks after its engineers. With most staff staying 15–20 years, this is a role where your work is valued and rewarded.

You'll be servicing and installing weighing systems, including weighbridges and platform/lab scales, across a local patch (typically within a 2.5-hour radius of your home). If you’ve got a good attitude, electrical fault-finding skills, and you’re not afraid of physical work, this company will support you, train you, and give you a career – not just a job.

The Role:

  • 80% work on weighbridges, 20% platform and lab scales

  • Service, maintenance, calibration, repair, and installation

  • Basic mechanical work: spanners, jacking, lifting (~20kg)

  • Electrical fault finding (240v AC/DC – multimeter use essential)

  • Home-based, covering a 2.5-hour radius with some wider travel (e.g. Derby, Carlisle, Scotland occasionally)

  • Optional Saturday work available

Hours & Earnings:

  • 40-hour contract – most engineers work ~50 hours/week

  • Paid door-to-door travel

  • 2.5 hours per day built-in for lunch and travel

  • Average 10 hours/week overtime (paid at 1.5x)

  • Easily hit £35,000+ per year, with more available for those who want extra hours

What You’ll Need:

  • Electrical fault-finding experience (240v AC/DC)

  • Confident with multimeters and electronic diagnostics

  • Basic mechanical ability (no qualifications required)

  • Physically fit – regular lifting involved

  • Comfortable working in industrial and occasionally dirty environments

  • Positive, can-do attitude – attitude is more important than qualifications

Experience from industries such as printing, vending, or weighing (retail/industrial) is ideal. Full training is provided.

What You’ll Get:

  • £28,000 - £35,000 basic salary + paid overtime

  • Company vehicle, tools, and full expenses paid

  • Paid lunch breaks + door-to-door travel time

  • Long-term job stability in a growing business
