@mecscomms is hiring a contract Fortinet SDWAN Technical Consultant on behalf of a Global Carrier, Telecoms & Network service provider. The role will own delivery of bespoke enterprise network security solutions across the SD-WAN network, for global Enterprise customers, whereby you will configure, commission, implement & support, network activation for Cyber Security, Firewall, Anti-Virus, IPS, Endpoint Security & Enterprise Network Security services within the Fortinet SDWAN technology environment.

Position: Fortinet SDWAN Technical Consultant
Location: Work from home – remote working - anywhere UK
Duration: 6+ month contract
Hours: Monday – Friday 09.00 -17.30
Gross Rate: £400 per day (inside IR35)
Security Clearance: SC or BPSS level clearance (or eligibility for clearance) is essential. Perspective candidates must have lived in the UK for at least the last 5 years consecutively.
Key duties include:
• Provisioning of Fortinet FortiGate Firewall solutions
• Cyber Security solution implementation & configuration
• IP Network security implementation
• Change & delivery management
• Network provisioning & product deployment
• Expert knowledge in Fortinet applications and software at least a service level 3 and have extensive knowledge
• Introduce best practices/developing and supporting policy in the service activations build environment
• Assist and share knowledge with the delivery team and technical back office
• Support training and roll-out plans and assist in delivering training modules.
• Strong ability to communicate with technical information and knowledge share
• Assist with project delivery to create a framework to support the service activations team.
• Work closely with key members and create knowledge share documents to be used in the wider business
• The ability to work and monitor progress and work to key deadlines
• Previous expertise in building relationships to drive the project forward and support in identifying key risks and challenges and better ways of working

Overview:
The SDWAN Fortinet Expert will be responsible for the delivery, implementation & documentation of all orders across networks for fixed line WAN & SD-WAN telecommunications services. You will take ownership of a wide range of network security, firewall, cyber security and IPS requests and projects.
Responsibilities:
You will work in the Network Implementation / Deployment department, which is accountable for the remote configuration of Enterprise Network Security solutions over the network infrastructure SDWAN infrastructure. You will be part of a team to build a working process and delivery this out to the existing teams.
• Enablement & activation of security products within the Global Provide delivery chain
• Plan technical deployments with project teams to design & implement network security services
• Configure & implement new Fortinet Firewall products into live network environment
• Coordinate implementation activity
• Implement, deploy & provision managed WAN, IP, VPN & MPLS solutions
• Deploy bespoke solutions for customer requirements
• Deliver customer solutions as per design/order requirement
• Liaise with external suppliers to coordinate service delivery & order management activity
Candidate Profile:
Ideally you will have previous network security engineering experience ideally gained within a Telecom, SDWAN, Carrier, Network Integrator or similar type of technology managed services provider. Your professional or academic experience is likely to include some of the following:
• Expert knowledge and experience with any of the following IP vendors: Fortinet, Cisco, Juniper, Alcatel, Nokia, Palo Alto Networks, Check Point
• Desirable qualification fully completed The Fortinet NSE Certification Advantage at a minimum level 6
• Encryption/ Firewall/SD-WAN
• Configure and test customer services / Build and document processes and mentor team members
• IP Networking, Fortinet, FortiGate Firewalls, Enterprise Network Security, Cyber Security or IPS systems
• SDWAN WAN, MPLS, IPVPN & SDWAN network
• Routing Protocols (BGP, RIP, EIGRP, OSPF, ISIS)
• Testing L3 devices (PE Routers), CPEs
• TCP / IP, OSI Layer Protocol suites.
• WAN protocols and troubleshooting
• Cisco CCNP / CCIE or Fortinet FNSE Network Security Associate accreditation is desirable
• It is essential for the successful individual to currently hold OR be eligible to pass BPSS (Basic Check) and SC level security clearance checks. As such candidates must have lived in the UK for at least the last 5 years consecutively.
