Working in partnership with Tayto Group in Scunthorpe we are recruiting a reliable, hardworking Production Scheduler.

This is a fantastic opportunity to work for Tayto Group who are the 3rd largest player in savoury snacks, with a turnover of more than £250m and home to iconic brands like Golden Wonder, Mr Porky, REAL Crisps and Tayto.

This would be an ideal role for a graduate who is looking for an introduction into a supply chain role, and is positioned as a junior person with ambition to develop a career with opportunities to work across multiple sites, although will be based at Scunthorpe

This position has immediate start.

FULL TIME / Shift pattern:

  •  Tuesday to Friday: 10pm to 6am, Saturday 8am to 4pm
  •  £27,000 a year


Job Purpose

To produce, maintain and communicate a weekly production schedule to ensure the site meets production requirements in accordance with customer demand.

Key Responsibilities
 

  • Liaise with the Group Planning Department to understand production requirements for the following week.
  • Arrange and attend regular meetings with key stakeholders to communicate and understand any potential issues which could affect achieving expected outputs, and agree actions to resolve.
  • Create pick plans for all production orders both for production and for product release, double checking accuracy to avoid errors.
  • Update the production plan at least twice a day to reflect current production volumes and requirements to ensure production management can adapt to achieve required service levels.
  • Monitor and maintain Conformance to Plan data, ensuring effective communication to key stakeholders.
  • Manage incoming and outgoing pallets to include stock count, identifying any damaged pallets and recording data accurately to include reconciliation of pallet information for financial control
  • Monitor daily production, calculating shortages / over runs on a daily basis and regularly during each production day to ensure any issues are effectively communicated to key stakeholders and appropriate changes are made to the production plan.
  • Daily meeting with the third party storage company to clarify expectations, highlight any issues and agree any actions to ensure production efficiency is not affected.
  • Monitor oil levels daily and ensure data is recorded accurately using appropriate systems and placing orders as required.
  • Ensure every oil delivery is booked in following each delivery.
  • Regularly assess material availability, communicating any issues and updating and re-issuing the production plan as required.
  • Allocate and send out timings for box deliveries throughout the day.
  • Liaise with the third party storage company each day to order cases, forecast requirements for the following week, plan the daily target and discuss scanning errors.
  • Arrange vehicle deliveries / shunts with third party storage facility to ensure raw materials are received in a timely manner and finished goods are removed from site efficiently to avoid congestion issues.
  • Meet agreed KPI’s, analyse data and report to relevant stakeholders together with suggestions for continuous improvement in efficiencies and effectiveness.
  • At the end of each week’s production, finalise all orders.
  • Saturday responsibilities will include closing off orders from the week, including Conformance to Plan analysis, carrying out a stock count of raw materials if production is running on a Saturday, covering end of line duties as required and issuing custom invoices for Tayto production as required.
  • Any other reasonable duties suitable to the level and responsibilities of this role as required.



Skills and Experience - Essential

  • Previous experience in a planning / scheduling role
  • Excellent IT skills with the ability to interrogate data
  • Previous experience using and interrogating material requirements planning (MRP) system


Skills and Experience - Desirable

  • People management and team development experience
  • Manufacturing experience gained within an FMCG manufacturing environment.
