Gi Group is recruiting on behalf of our client, a global life sciences company providing products and services used in scientific research, healthcare, and industrial laboratories. We are looking for a Warehouse Operative to join their busy warehouse team on a rotational shift pattern.

Warehouse Operative Shift pattern

  • Week 1 - 06:00 – 14:00, week 2 - 14:00 – 22:00
  • Monday to Friday

Warehouse Operative Pay & contract

  • £13.46 per hour + 20% shift allowance
  • 40 hours per week
  • Duration: 6 months

Warehouse Operative Key responsibilities

  • Put health & safety first and report any unsafe or unethical practices via the appropriate channels.
  • Handle and pack ambient and refrigerated packaged materials/devices to a consistently high standard (including work at height).
  • Safely operate equipment/vehicles to support picking and movement of materials (full training provided).
  • Complete warehouse stock activities including goods receiving, stock put-away and cycle counting.
  • Work to detailed SOPs/work instructions and ensure tasks are completed “right first time”.
  • Take an active part in daily team/department meetings.
  • Monitor, track and report progress against daily goals to the supervisor/manager.
  • Update the stock management system (SAP) after completing allocated tasks.
  • Maintain training records within the quality management system (MasterControl).
  • Carry out further duties as required by the business and within your capabilities.
  • Follow and support the company values.

Warehouse Operative Skills & requirements

  • Strong quality mindset: accuracy over speed, every time.
  • Good collaboration and communication skills.
  • Good literacy and numeracy; able to follow written/verbal instructions and record data accurately.
  • Comfortable using a computer (including email).
  • Physically fit: able to lift up to 20kg and be on your feet for most of the day (~90%).
  • Willingness/ability to use a forklift and mechanical lifting/picking aids (full training provided).
  • Strong housekeeping and organisational skills.
  • Reliable, accountable, and able to work to safety, compliance, quality and security standards.
  • SAP experience in a warehouse/stores environment is an advantage.
  • You may be required to sign dangerous goods transportation documents (legal responsibility applies; full training provided).
