Gi Group are recruiting on behalf of our client, a global life sciences company providing products and services used in scientific research, healthcare, and industrial laboratories. Location: Horsham, RH12

Pay rate: £15.86 per hour

Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:30–17:00 (38.75 hours per week)

Contract length: 6 months

Logistics Coordinator Key responsibilities:

  • Import process: Review shipping documents and provide customs clearance instructions for all incoming shipments
  • Export process: Raise required documentation for all exports
  • Accurately enter shipment details into courier ERP systems to support smooth collections and deliveries
  • File all order-related paperwork in line with regulatory and study requirements to maintain AEO (Authorised Economic Operator) status
  • Proactively handle internal and external customer enquiries and resolve issues
  • Track pro-forma invoices for approval with clients/couriers; arrange shipping and follow up regularly to meet SLAs
  • Submit applications for Certificates of Origin via the local Chamber of Commerce
  • Raise Controlled Drug Licence applications and coordinate review/approval with the relevant Government Ministerial Department
  • Day-to-day liaison with couriers to arrange shipments and source best shipping options
  • Work with internal departments to ensure timely completion of order-related activities
  • Support cross-functional process improvement activities
  • Provide cross-training to other team members when requested by the line manager
  • Apply Good Manufacturing Principles (GMP) in all areas of responsibility
  • Support delivery of Logistics RFT and OTIF performance metrics
  • Complete additional duties as required to meet business needs

 

Logistics Coordinator Preferred qualifications / experience:

  • Knowledge of GMP requirements and experience in a GMP facility (highly desirable but not essential)
  • Experience working in an operational environment
  • Confident using electronic/automated systems and equipment
  • Microsoft Excel and MS Word skills
  • Strong planning and organisational ability
  • General admin skills (filing, photocopying, office housekeeping)
  • Able to guide and mentor others effectively
  • High accuracy and attention to detail
  • Commitment to compliance with cGMP, Quality Systems and training requirements
