Gi Group are recruiting on behalf of a global life sciences company providing products and services used in scientific research, healthcare, and industrial laboratories. We’re seeking a Manufacturing Technician to join the Protein Diagnostics Division in Birmingham.

As part of Operations, you’ll join a passionate Manufacturing team focused on ensuring the performance of world-leading diagnostic products that help drive global progress. Your work will contribute directly to product quality, compliance, and continuous improvement.

Manufacturing Technician a day in the life:

• Independently manage your workload against a published plan
• Manage inventory to ensure materials are available and correctly transacted to complete assigned work
• Own and perform scheduled activities for designated equipment, area, or function
• Carry out data and process-checking activities

Manufacturing Technician Minimum requirements / qualifications:

• Educated to GCSE level with a minimum of 1 year’s relevant experience, or a relevant degree
• Essential: Previous experience in a laboratory environment
• Preferred: Workload management and planning experience

Manufacturing Technician Knowledge, skills, abilities:

• Strong documentation, communication and digital literacy
• Ability to follow SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures)
• Computer skills, including applications such as MS Excel
• Practical understanding of units of measurement and basic maths

Manufacturing Technician Physical requirements / work environment:

• Use PPE and follow chemical hygiene procedures
• Able to handle solutions and chemicals
• Role may require lifting objects up to 20kg
• Willing to work overtime at short notice (including weekends) to support the department as needed.
