About the role

Vinova are partnering with a leading Australian energy infrastructure organisation to appoint a Site HSE Advisor for a utility-scale renewable energy construction project.

Working closely with the Construction Manager, site teams and subcontractors, you will provide independent health, safety and environmental assurance across all construction activities. The role focuses on oversight, verification and coaching — supporting the project to proactively manage risks, maintain compliance and continuously improve safety performance.

You will be a key on-site presence, driving engagement through inspections, training, reporting and daily interaction with the workforce.

Duties

• Provide on-site HSE and environmental assurance across construction activities

• Review and verify SWMS, risk assessments and site controls

• Conduct regular inspections, audits and field observations

• Lead site inductions, toolbox talks and safety engagement initiatives

• Support incident reporting, investigation and close-out

• Implement and administer drug and alcohol management processes

• Monitor environmental compliance, approvals and sustainability commitments

• Provide practical HSE advice to supervisors and escalate key risks

• Maintain accurate reporting and documentation within project systems

Skills and experience

• Proven experience in a Site HSE Advisor or Safety Officer role within construction, infrastructure or heavy industry

• Strong understanding of Australian WHS legislation and compliance frameworks

• Experience working in high-risk environments such as civil, electrical or energy projects

• Confident communicator with the ability to influence behaviours at all levels

• Experience delivering inductions, toolbox talks and safety initiatives

• Ability to work independently while partnering closely with delivery teams

• Relevant HSE qualifications (Cert IV or Diploma highly regarded)

• Current White Card and driver’s licence
