Nicholas Associates are recruiting for an experienced Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join our client’s team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled engineer to play a key role in supporting the Maintenance Supervisor and ensuring high standards of electrical and mechanical compliance across the site.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, maintenance and repair of electrical and mechanical systems, as well as responding effectively to breakdowns and completing planned maintenance activities.
The role will be starting out on two shifts and go to 3 shifts eventually.
Responsibilities
- Always Work safely in accordance with company health and safety standards and procedures, ensuring appropriate Risk Assessments are completed before undertaking any task.
- Ensure all relevant electrical and mechanical compliance requirements are maintained.
- Respond effectively to electrical and mechanical breakdowns and faults, managing planned and reactive maintenance activities in a timely and structured manner.
- Carry out electrical installation and maintenance work as required.
- Use relevant technical information, documentation and maintenance systems to manage and maintain the site’s electrical and control systems.
- Liaise with and assist in the management of third-party contractors, ensuring work is completed safely and to the required standards.
- Communicate and engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels across the business.
- Support the Maintenance Supervisor in maintaining high standards of plant reliability, safety and compliance.
- Identify potential equipment issues and undertake proactive maintenance to reduce downtime.
- Ensure all maintenance work is completed efficiently, safely and to a high standard.
About You
- Recognised apprenticeship or relevant qualification in Mechanical or Electrical Maintenance Engineering.
- Previous experience within a mechanical and/or electrical maintenance environment.
- Knowledge and understanding of plant control systems, with experience of PLCs and control systems preferred.
- Strong mechanical fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
- Enthusiastic, motivated and computer literate, with good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team while also being confident working independently and without direct supervision.
- A proactive approach to maintenance, with a strong focus on safety, reliability and continuous improvement.
