Field Service Engineer

Residence Location: Ideally around South Yorkshire, West Yorkshire, East Midlands

Working Location: UK (Field-Based)

Nicholas Associates are working with a leading name in the Engineering industry to recruit a skilled Service Engineer who is mechanically biased. This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established company with a strong reputation for customer service and engineering excellence.

Main Duties:

• Service and maintain a range of CNC machine tools for clients around the UK.
• Attend breakdowns, fault find and carry out repairs or parts replacements.
• Liaise with internal support teams.
• Conduct planned maintenance.
• Work predominately on customer sites.
• Identify required parts and coordinate orders via the Service and Spares department.
• Communicate findings and completed work clearly to customers.
• Ensure customer service is met with the highest standards and identify any potential sales leads.

Skills & Experience:

• Mechanical Engineering Apprenticeship
• Strong background in manufacturing or machine tool servicing.
• Minimum 5 years' experience in a service engineering role within the machine tool sector.
• Basic electrical skills.
• Solid understanding of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Health and safety knowledge (Essential), Qualifications (desirable)
• Full UK driving licence.
• Flexible with working hours
• Willing to travel/stay away from home when required.
• Happy to assist in training of junior employees.
• Professional and customer communication skills.

The Details:

• Salary: Up to £45k (Basic)
• Company Car/van – For personal use also, once successfully passed probation
• Overnight stay allowance
• Accommodation paid for whilst working away
• Travel paid – Fuel card and/or mileage.
• Overtime paid at enhanced rates,
