A high respected school in York, is recruiting for a Management Accountant to join their Finance Team. As a key member of the Finance Team you will be reporting into the Finance Manager, supporting them in this exciting role.

This is an excellent, permanent opportunity for a finance professional who is either qualified, part-qualified or qualified through their experience. A competitive salary of between £30,000 to £34,000 is on offer for this role, depending on experience and qualifications, as well as desirable working hours, free parking and much more.

Key responsibilities for the Management Accountant will include, but are not limited to:

• Budget development and budgetary control
• Financial modelling and reporting, including the analysis of variances, to then be used to review and monitor performance
• Forecasts and periodical reforecasts
• Development, design and implementation of systems and controls, financial policies and procedures
• Taking a lead role in preparation of the annual financial statements, statutory accounts, liaising with external auditors and compiling year end schedules for the annual audit
• Preparing and updating the cashflow forecasts, and monitoring results
• Timely, accurate financial administration and financial control service to senior colleagues
• Assisting in the preparation of financial commentaries in reports to Governors, Finance Committee and other stakeholders
• Working with department head to cost projects and develop any required and relevant financial information
• Other ad hoc duties, as and when required. As well as providing cover and support for other colleagues when needed

The successful Management Accountant will have the following experience/qualifications:

• Part Qualified or Qualified, in ACCA or ACA or CIMA or equivalent experience
• Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Excel
• Ability to work flexibly
• Ability to communicate confidently and effectively
• Good numeracy and accuracy skills

Ideally, you will also have a background in education or similar sectors or, be looking to take the next step in your career.
