A brilliant opportunity to join an innovative SME company as their Financial Controller working in an autonomous role leading a small team. Based in Thirsk, North Yorkshire, the role offers a competitive salary of up to £60,000 p.a. plus benefits.

This is a wonderful opportunity to work within an entrepreneurial, owner-managed business in a varied and hands-on finance role.  The successful Financial Controller will have previous experience managing all aspects of a company’s accounts, with a commercial eye and the ability to lead on key projects.

Leading the day to day finance requirements reporting to the Managing Director and Finance Director, your responsibilities as Financial Controller will include:

• Production of monthly management accounts
• Preparation of annual financial accounts
• Business partnering with business managers to set budgets and forecasts
• Responsibility for the payroll and group pension scheme
• Liaising with external tax advisers and accountants
• Identifying and implementing process improvements

To be considered for this Financial Controller position and be successful in the post, you will need the following:

• CIMA, ACCA or ACA (ICAEW) qualification or equivalent experience
• Previous experience within an SME environment
• Ability to set own deadlines and work without supervision
• Good team player who is keen to be involved with the wider business
• Strong systems knowledge
