A&P Group is a global ship repair, conversion and marine specialist with a proud history of quality-driven engineering and marine excellence spanning six decades. Our business is situated in four UK locations Falmouth, Tyneside, Teesside & Great Yarmouth.

A&P Group Defence supports the defence maritime community across the globe with its dedicated division, headquartered at its A&P Falmouth facility.

Under the Ministry of Defence’s In-Service Support Contracts, A&P Group is contracted to provide maintenance support to MoD vessels at home and abroad until 2028 - including HMS Scott, RFA Argus and the RFA Bay Class vessels - Mounts Bay, Cardigan Bay and Lyme Bay.

We are looking to appoint a Cluster Programme Manager with responsibility for managing the In-Service Support Contract and Cluster Support Team in Falmouth.

The position will report the Managing Director - A&P Defence and work closely with the A&P Senior Management Team

 

Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • Working as part of the A&P Senior Management Team responsible for all budgetary and financial aspects of the Cluster business,
  • Managing the A&P Cluster Team, monitoring employee performance and achievement of objectives
  • Contract management including:
    • Setting and achievement of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
    • Value for Money (VFM) body of evidence compilation
    • Drive and foster collaborative working behaviours under ISO 44001 as outlined in the CSS / A&P Collaborative Working Charter
  • Preparation of reports and presentations for Senior Management and MoD
  • Promoting collaborative working relationships with the MoD’s Commercially Supported Shipping organisation
  • Identifying succession needs and training/development for the area of responsibility

 

 

The successful candidate will have and be able to demonstrate:

  • Relevant experience in a senior leadership position
  • Relevant formal engineering, project management and commercial qualifications and experience in ship repair and / or naval engineering contracting
  • Excellent verbal, written, communication & presentational skills
  • Competent with MS suite of applications (Word, Excel, Project, Power Point)
