About the Company:
We are delighted to be partnering with a large, highly regarded organisation undergoing ongoing system optimisation and transformation across their workforce management landscape. Reporting to a highly skilled Payroll Governance Manager, this is a fantastic opportunity to join a complex, multi-site environment and contribute to the integrity, compliance, and continuous improvement of payroll operations.
About the Role:
- Monitor payroll compliance with relevant legislation, awards, enterprise agreements, and internal policies
- Conduct payroll audits, controls testing, and compliance reviews
- Support payroll remediation activities and governance initiatives
- Analyse payroll data to identify risks, trends, anomalies, and improvement opportunities
- Assist in maintaining payroll policies, procedures, and governance documentation
- Partner with Payroll, HR, Finance, and system teams to strengthen payroll controls and processes
- Support internal and external audit requirements
- Contribute to payroll-related projects, system enhancements, and continuous improvement initiatives
Skills and Experience
- Previous experience in payroll governance, payroll compliance, payroll audit, or senior payroll operations within a large and complex environment
- Strong knowledge of Australian payroll legislation, awards, enterprise agreements, and payroll compliance requirements
- Experience conducting payroll reconciliations, audits, and risk assessments
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex payroll data
- High attention to detail and a proactive approach to identifying and mitigating risk
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
- Advanced Excel skills and experience working with payroll reporting and data analysis
- Experience supporting payroll remediation or governance projects will be highly regarded
