This role will provide specialist advice, and develop and support the implementation of strategies and projects to achieve compliance with the Poisons and Therapeutic Goods legislation. The role reporst into the Chief Pharmacist and the Chief Pharmacists Unit.
Duties and responsibilities
- Develop, review and evaluation policy's and strategy's to address current and emerging regulatory issues with the prescribing, dispensing, supply and administration of medicines.
- Prepare high quality advice including reports, briefs, policy, discussion papers and guidelines
- Provide high level secretariat and policy support to major committees and working parties
- Undertake audits, inspections and investigations
- Administer statutory requirements under the Poisons and Therapeutic Goods Act, including the preparation, issuance and withdrawal of authorities
Qualifications required
Tertiary qualification in a health related discipline and knowledge in pharmacology and pharmaceuticals with proven experience and knowledge in recent clinical practice
Strong prioritising and organisational skills
Ability to meet tight deadlines
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
