Chadwick Nott are working with a fast-growing and innovative commercial law firm to recruit an experienced Planning Solicitor (8+ PQE) to join their expanding Commercial Property team. This is a rare opportunity to work remotely while playing a key strategic role in the development of a thriving national practice.

The Role
This is a senior-level position offering autonomy, flexibility, and the chance to shape planning law services within a dynamic, tech-forward firm. Responsibilities include:

  • Conducting planning-related due diligence for commercial property transactions
  • Advising on planning risks, constraints, CIL, and Section 106 agreements
  • Drafting and negotiating planning clauses, warranties, and indemnities
  • Supporting lenders with planning reports and advice letters
  • Collaborating on planning strategies for new developments and amendments
  • Advising on enforcement actions and judicial review risks
  • Liaising with local authorities, consultants, and internal teams
  • Delivering training and updates to the wider property team on legislative changes


Candidate Requirements
This role is suited to a Planning Solicitor with:

  • 8+ years’ PQE in planning law, ideally within a commercial property context
  • Strong technical expertise in planning permissions, enforcement, and Section 106 agreements
  • Experience advising developers, lenders, and local authorities
  • A proactive, tech-savvy approach and comfort with remote collaboration tools
  • Familiarity with Microsoft 365 and SharePoint
  • An interest in using AI tools to enhance legal delivery
  • A collaborative mindset and enthusiasm for contributing to a growing team
