Knowledge Lawyer – Employment – Bristol – 5+ Years PQE
Location: Bristol
Type of Role: Permanent, Full-time or Part-time (with hybrid flexibility)
Salary: £70,000 – £90,000 (dependent on experience)

A highly regarded law firm is seeking a Knowledge Lawyer to join its Employment team in Bristol. This role would suit an England & Wales qualified lawyer already in a knowledge/professional support role, or a fee-earner looking to transition into a support-focused position.

The Role
You’ll be responsible for a wide range of knowledge and training activities, including:

  • Creating and maintaining precedents, collating and annotating external resources
  • Designing and delivering internal training programmes for trainees, junior lawyers, and practice updates
  • Creating and, where appropriate, delivering training to clients
  • Monitoring legal developments and updating fee earners on their impact
  • Handling complex legal queries from fee earners
  • Ensuring knowledge materials are captured, updated, and promoted within the firm’s database
  • Collaborating with business services teams to optimise accessibility of resources
  • Identifying risks and working with the Risk team to minimise them
  • Driving efficiencies through process optimisation, project management, or technology
  • Writing or contributing to legal insights, articles, and tender responses
  • Liaising with other Knowledge Lawyers across the firm to enhance knowledge systems
  • Supporting and mentoring trainees in developing research and knowledge application skills


Candidate Requirements
This role is suited to a qualified solicitor with:

  • At least 5 years’ PQE in employment law
  • Strong legal drafting skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to digest, analyse and communicate complex legal and industry information clearly
  • Confidence working independently and collaboratively within a team
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills
  • Self-motivation with a strong client-focused approach
  • Familiarity with tools and technology to support project delivery
