Associate – Regulatory Healthcare – Bristol – 5+ Years PQE 

Location: Bristol

Type of Role: Permanent, Full-time (with hybrid flexibility)

Salary: £55,000 to £75,000 

A leading legal team is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Associate or Senior Associate with 5+ years’ post-qualification experience in healthcare regulatory, inquests, and professional discipline to join its Bristol office. This is an excellent opportunity to work on high-profile and sensitive matters for healthcare providers, insurers, indemnifiers, and public sector bodies. 

The Role

You’ll be responsible for managing a complex and varied caseload, including:

  • Representing clients at coroner’s inquests, including NHS Trusts
  • Advising on investigations by regulators such as GMC, GDC, GOC, NMC, and HCPC
  • Working closely with NHS Trusts, private healthcare providers, indemnifiers, and insurers
  • Conducting legal research and analysis to support case strategy
  • Drafting pleadings, witness statements, and correspondence
  • Liaising with clients, medical professionals, and experts to gather evidence
  • Attending hearings, mediations, and settlement negotiations
  • Maintaining accurate case documentation
  • Collaborating with colleagues across the Healthcare Team

 Candidate Requirements

This role is suited to a qualified solicitor with:

  • 5+ years PQE in healthcare regulatory, disciplinary, and inquest work
  • Proven experience working with healthcare regulators
  • Strong drafting, negotiation, and advocacy skills
  • Ability to manage high-volume and complex caseloads
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in legal research tools and software
  • High professionalism and integrity
  • Experience supervising junior team members
