Associate – Regulatory Healthcare – Bristol – 5+ Years PQE

Salary: £55,000 to £75,000
A leading legal team is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Associate or Senior Associate with 5+ years’ post-qualification experience in healthcare regulatory, inquests, and professional discipline to join its Bristol office. This is an excellent opportunity to work on high-profile and sensitive matters for healthcare providers, insurers, indemnifiers, and public sector bodies.
The Role
You’ll be responsible for managing a complex and varied caseload, including:
- Representing clients at coroner’s inquests, including NHS Trusts
- Advising on investigations by regulators such as GMC, GDC, GOC, NMC, and HCPC
- Working closely with NHS Trusts, private healthcare providers, indemnifiers, and insurers
- Conducting legal research and analysis to support case strategy
- Drafting pleadings, witness statements, and correspondence
- Liaising with clients, medical professionals, and experts to gather evidence
- Attending hearings, mediations, and settlement negotiations
- Maintaining accurate case documentation
- Collaborating with colleagues across the Healthcare Team
Candidate Requirements
This role is suited to a qualified solicitor with:
- 5+ years PQE in healthcare regulatory, disciplinary, and inquest work
- Proven experience working with healthcare regulators
- Strong drafting, negotiation, and advocacy skills
- Ability to manage high-volume and complex caseloads
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in legal research tools and software
- High professionalism and integrity
- Experience supervising junior team members
