Regulatory Lawyer – Health & Safety / Corporate Defence – Bristol – Associate to Managing Associate

Salary: £55,000 to £85,000 (depending on experience)

A well established national law firm is seeking a Regulatory Lawyer (Associate to Managing Associate level) to join its expanding Corporate Defence & Regulatory team. This is an excellent opportunity to work on high quality advisory and contentious matters, supporting clients across a wide range of regulatory, enforcement and crisis management issues. The role is based in Bristol within a collaborative and growing national practice.

The Role
You will manage a varied and stimulating caseload, including:

  • Health & Safety advisory work, including compliance, incident response, investigations and enforcement/prosecution support
  • Product safety and product liability adjacent matters, including recall strategy, internal investigations and engagement with enforcement bodies
  • Food safety and regulated product compliance for clients under heightened regulatory scrutiny
  • Support on wider corporate defence matters, including corporate manslaughter, coroner’s inquests and other investigations
  • Working closely with colleagues across the national team to deliver strategic, joined up advice


Candidate Requirements
This role is suited to a qualified solicitor who:

  • Is admitted in England & Wales (or equivalent) with relevant post qualification experience
  • Has experience in Health & Safety regulatory work; exposure to product safety/recall and/or food safety is advantageous
  • Is confident advising on investigations and enforcement facing matters, providing clear, calm and pragmatic guidance
  • Enjoys collaborative working and consistently delivers high quality client service
  • Demonstrates strong financial and case management skills
  • Is proficient with case management systems, electronic time recording and Microsoft Office
  • Brings a friendly, proactive, self starting approach with excellent interpersonal skills
  • Embodies the firm’s values and contributes positively to team culture
