Chadwick Nott is recruiting on behalf of a leading full-service UK law firm for a Solicitor to join their highly regarded Banking and Finance team in Cardiff. This is an excellent opportunity for a junior lawyer to develop their career in a team known for its national reach, sector expertise, and collaborative culture.

The Role

You’ll be joining a dynamic and well-established team advising a broad range of clients across the financial and public sectors. Responsibilities include:

  • Acting for clearing banks, institutional lenders, challenger banks, alternative financiers, and high-profile corporate borrowers
  • Advising public and tertiary sector clients including Welsh Government, local authorities, and higher education institutions
  • Handling structured finance, acquisition finance, and real estate finance transactions
  • Drafting loan agreements and standard form security documents
  • Managing conditions precedent and liaising with clients from credit sanction to drawdown
  • Supporting post-completion processes and business development initiatives
  • Collaborating with colleagues in corporate, commercial property, and construction teams

Candidate Requirements

This role is suited to a qualified solicitor with:

  • NQ to 2 years PQE, ideally with experience in banking and finance
  • Exposure to transactional law in a leading regional or national firm
  • Strong drafting and communication skills
  • Commercial awareness and sector knowledge
  • A proactive, client-focused approach and enthusiasm for learning
