Salary: £55,000 – £70,000 (depending on experience)

A well established national commercial law firm is seeking an Employment Solicitor (2–4 PQE) to join its expanding Employment team in Bristol. The department advises a broad range of employers across both public and private sectors and offers strong opportunities for progression within a supportive, collaborative environment.

The Role
The position is based in the Bristol office, working with senior lawyers across a varied client base. The work includes a balanced mix of contentious and non contentious matters, such as:

  • Managing your own caseload and supporting senior colleagues on more complex matters
  • Advising on employee relations issues including disciplinary, grievance and capability processes
  • Drafting and reviewing employment contracts, policies and procedures
  • Advising on discrimination, equalities obligations and general HR queries
  • Handling Employment Tribunal claims, including drafting pleadings and witness statements
  • Advising on TUPE, restructures, redundancy processes and settlement negotiations
  • Providing training to clients on employment law topics
  • Supporting business development and maintaining strong client relationships


Candidate Requirements
The ideal candidate will have:

  • 2–4 years PQE in employment law
  • Experience across both contentious and advisory work
  • Strong drafting skills and attention to detail
  • Confidence handling client matters independently where appropriate
  • A collaborative approach and interest in developing client relationships
  • Experience in any sector (public, private or third sector) is welcome
