Solicitor / Legal Executive – Clinical Negligence – Gloucester – 1–2 Years PQE
Location: Gloucester (Hybrid or Fully Remote Options)
Type of Role: Permanent, Full time
Salary: £45,000 to £55,000 (depending on experience)
A well established and growing Clinical Negligence team is seeking a Solicitor or Legal Executive with 1–2 years’ PQE. This is an excellent opportunity to manage a varied caseload, work closely with experienced specialists, and contribute to a supportive, high performing department.
The Role
You’ll be responsible for managing a diverse caseload of Clinical Negligence matters from initial instruction through to settlement, including:
- Conducting initial consultations and triaging new enquiries
- Advising and supporting clients throughout their claims
- Reviewing and analysing medical records and expert evidence
- Preparing chronologies, witness statements, Letters of Claim and court documents
- Instructing and liaising with medical experts and counsel
- Managing all aspects of the pre action protocol and litigated cases under the CPR
- Advising on funding options including CFAs, ATE policies and client care documentation
- Negotiating with defendants and insurers to achieve the best outcomes
- Maintaining strong client relationships and delivering a high standard of service
Candidate Requirements
This role is suited to a Solicitor or Legal Executive with:
- 1–2 years’ PQE in Clinical Negligence, or a strong litigation background with a desire to specialise
- Excellent analytical, drafting and case management skills
- Strong communication and client care abilities
- Confidence managing a varied caseload independently
- High attention to detail and a proactive, organised approach
- Ability to work collaboratively within a supportive team
