Lead and Build a New Court of Protection Team
A well-established law firm in Bristol is offering an exciting opportunity for a Solicitor with 5 years’ PQE to lead and develop a new Court of Protection service. With a growing volume of complex disputes and no current specialist in place, this is a rare chance to shape a high-potential practice area from the ground up.
What You’ll Be Doing
You will take ownership of the Court of Protection function and play a key role in its growth, including:
- Managing a caseload of welfare and financial disputes under the Court of Protection
- Advising clients and families on deputyship, capacity, and best interests matters
- Leading the development of internal processes and best practices
- Supervising and mentoring junior team members as the practice expands
- Collaborating with colleagues and external professionals to deliver exceptional service
- Driving business development and strategic planning for long-term success
What We’re Looking For
We are seeking a qualified solicitor who brings:
- At least 5 years’ PQE in Court of Protection or related areas such as mental capacity, healthcare, or private client
- Strong advocacy, drafting, and client care skills
- Leadership potential and a desire to build and guide a team
- Confidence in working independently and taking initiative
- A commitment to delivering sensitive, high-quality legal support
- Flexibility to attend client meetings and contribute to firm-wide collaboration
