Solicitor – Clinical Negligence (Defendant) – NQ–3 Years PQE
Location: Bristol
Type of Role: Permanent, Full-time (hybrid working available)
Salary: £50,000 to £65,000 (depending on experience)

A respected national legal team is seeking an NQ–3 PQE Solicitor to join its Healthcare division in Bristol, specialising in Defendant Clinical Negligence work. This is an excellent opportunity to develop your career within a collaborative, high performing team acting for major healthcare clients, including NHS Resolution.

The successful candidate will manage a varied caseload of Clinical Negligence matters and support on high profile group litigation, delivering high quality legal advice and representation.

The Role
You’ll be responsible for managing a diverse caseload of Clinical Negligence matters, including:

  • Managing high value Defendant clinical negligence claims from instruction to resolution
  • Providing expert legal advice on complex clinical negligence issues
  • Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating pleadings, witness statements, and case documentation
  • Conducting legal research and analysis to support case strategy
  • Liaising with clients, medical professionals, and experts to gather evidence
  • Attending hearings, mediations, and settlement meetings as required
  • Maintaining accurate and compliant case files
  • Collaborating with colleagues across the Healthcare Team to ensure excellent service delivery
  • Identifying opportunities for business development with NHS Resolution and Trust clients
  • Assisting with Trust client care matters where required


Candidate Requirements
This role is suited to a solicitor with:

  • NQ–3 years PQE (Clinical Negligence experience desirable)
  • Experience acting for NHS Resolution is advantageous
  • Knowledge of complex Defendant clinical negligence matters
  • Previous involvement in group litigation is preferred

Desirable Skills:

  • Strong drafting, negotiation, and advocacy abilities
  • Ability to manage a high volume caseload efficiently
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
