Chadwick Nott are pleased to be working with a leading law firm in their search for a junior solicitor to join their highly regarded Probate team. This is an urgent vacancy within the firm’s largest and busiest department, offering the opportunity to work on complex, high-value estates and charity matters in a supportive and specialist environment.
The Role
This client-facing role offers exposure to a wide range of private client and probate matters. Responsibilities include:
- Administering large and complex taxable estates, including farms and landed estates
- Acting on behalf of charities and managing complex grant applications
- Collaborating with the wider Private Client and Contentious Trusts & Probate teams
- Handling estates with international aspects and intricate tax reliefs
- Delivering high-quality legal and technical advice
- Building long-term relationships with clients and stakeholders
- Supporting team development and contributing to a collaborative culture
Candidate Requirements
This role is suited to a private client solicitor with:
- NQ–3 years PQE in probate or private client work
- Strong academic background and technical aptitude
- Interest in or progress toward STEP or ATT/CTA qualifications
- Understanding of inheritance tax, agricultural and business property reliefs
- Excellent client care and communication skills
- Proactive, organised, and detail-oriented approach
- Ability to work effectively in a team and contribute to its success
- High IT literacy and openness to new technologies
- Senior candidates may also be considered, but the junior role is the most urgent priority.
