Associate Solicitor – Private Client – Swansea – 5–8 Years PQE
Location: Swansea
Type of Role: Permanent, Full time
Salary: £55,000 to £70,000 (depending on experience)
A respected and growing regional law firm is seeking an experienced Private Client Associate Solicitor (5–8 years PQE) to join its Probate team in Swansea. This senior role offers autonomy, influence and the opportunity to shape the future of a thriving department.
The Role
You will manage a broad and varied caseload, including:
- Wills, estate planning and wealth preservation
- Probate and estate administration (including complex and high value estates)
- Trust creation, structuring and ongoing management
- Lasting Powers of Attorney and Court of Protection matters
You will also:
- Provide clear, pragmatic and commercially focused advice
- Handle complex and sensitive matters with minimal supervision
- Build and nurture long term client relationships
- Supervise and mentor junior solicitors, trainees and support staff
- Support business development, networking and marketing initiatives
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and professional standards
- Contribute to the strategic direction and growth of the department
- Maintain accurate file management, time recording and billing
Candidate Requirements
- Qualified Solicitor in England & Wales with 5–8 years’ PQE
- Strong experience across wills, probate and trusts
- STEP qualification (or working towards) highly desirable
- Proven ability to manage a complex caseload independently
- Excellent drafting, analytical and problem solving skills
- Strong communication and client care skills
- Experience supervising junior team members
- Demonstrable business development experience
- Professional, organised and able to manage competing priorities
- Collaborative and team oriented
