Solicitor – Construction – Cardiff – 4–8 Years PQE
Location: Cardiff
Type of Role: Permanent, Full-time (hybrid working available)
Salary (Cardiff): £60,000 to £85,000 (dependent on experience)

A well established national law firm is seeking a Construction Associate / Senior Associate (4–8 years PQE) to join its thriving Construction practice in Cardiff. The team handles a broad mix of contentious and non contentious work and is experiencing strong growth, particularly in high profile transactional matters. The firm encourages lawyers to develop a wide skill set across both advisory and disputes work.

The Role
You’ll be responsible for advising on a wide range of construction matters, including:

  • Drafting and negotiating JCT and NEC contracts
  • Supporting major construction and property development projects
  • Advising on PPP and PFI transactions
  • Working with FIDIC and ICHEME forms (desirable)
  • Handling both contentious and non contentious matters
  • Collaborating with colleagues across multiple offices
  • Contributing to the continued growth and profile of the team
  • Hybrid working is supported, typically with 2–3 days per week in the office, depending on business needs.


Candidate Requirements
This role is suited to a qualified Solicitor with:

  • 4–8 years PQE in construction law
  • Experience gained at a leading national, regional or City firm (or in house at a major contractor, consultant or public body)
  • Strong familiarity with JCT and NEC contracts
  • Wider procurement experience, including PFI / PPP
  • Excellent technical ability and commercial awareness
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • A confident, personable approach with leadership potential
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a high performing team
